Welcome to Best of Lingerie: A Guide to Luxury Seductive Lingerie
A luxe guide to seductive lingerie in all its forms – for women who want to discover, experiment, and fall in love with what they wear.
There's a moment, for most women, when they realise that what they've been wearing under their clothes isn't quite what they want it to be. It might be in front of a mirror, in the same set she's had for three years. It might be when a friend says something offhand about a piece she just bought. It might be on holiday, watching another woman move differently and wondering, quietly, what's she wearing under that? It might be the night she scrolls past a Bordelle harness or a Carine Gilson slip or a Maison Close set and feels the small surprise of I'd love to wear that followed by the immediate, deflating but I wouldn't know how.
Best of Lingerie is for that moment, and everything that comes after it. This is a site for women who want to discover the wider world of lingerie – soft and romantic, architectural and strappy, theatrical and bold, playful and seductive – and to learn how to find their place in it. It's a guide to choosing well, wearing bravely, and falling in love with the version of yourself you become when what you have on underneath is exactly right. You're welcome here. Let me show you around.
What this site is for
Lingerie is one of the great underexplored pleasures of grown-up life, and most of us have only seen a sliver of what it can be. We grew up with cotton t-shirt bras and the lingerie aisle of a department store. We've maybe owned one or two pieces we really loved. We've heard names like Agent Provocateur and La Perla without quite knowing what makes them different from each other, or from a Bordelle harness, or from a beautifully made babydoll, or from a silk slip from a small French atelier. This site exists to open all of that up.
We're here to show you the full range of what beautiful, seductive lingerie can be – every style, every silhouette, every house worth knowing. We're here to teach you how to choose pieces that actually suit your body, your taste, your mood, and your life. We're here to help you experiment – with shapes you've never tried, with materials you weren't sure were for you, with the slightly braver pieces you've been quietly curious about. And we're here, above all, to make the wanting itself feel like good company. Lingerie should be a joy. Discovering it should feel like an adventure, not a quiz.
If you've ever wondered what else is out there – this is where you find out.
What we cover
Lingerie is wider than most blogs make it sound. We try to cover all of it. The soft and romantic – silk slips, French lace, Italian embroidery, English tulle, the timeless pieces from houses like Carine Gilson, Aubade, Lise Charmel, and Fleur of England.
The architectural and strap-led – cage detailing, harnesses, bondage-inspired sets, the art of designers like Bordelle, Murmur, and Atelier Bordelle.
The theatrical and glamorous – corsets, basques, garter sets, the unapologetic seduction of Agent Provocateur, Maison Close, and Kiki de Montparnasse.
The cosplay and costume world – babydolls, French maid sets, schoolgirl pieces, all the lingerie that started as theatre and earned its place in serious drawers.
Leather, latex, and mesh. Bridal sets and honeymoon pieces. Bralettes, balconettes, longline bras, bodysuits, slips, sleepwear. Everyday pieces beautiful enough to make ordinary Tuesdays feel like occasions, and occasion pieces beautiful enough to wear on Tuesdays.
If a woman might want it, we want to write about it well.
How the site is organised
Five places to read, each doing a different job.
Edits
The heart of the site. Curated guides to what to wear, when, and why. How to find your first corset. The best strappy bodysuits, by body type. Honeymoon lingerie that isn't just white. Bralettes worth wearing every day. These are the pieces designed to teach – to show you what's out there, help you understand the choices, and give you the confidence to try.
Guides
The deeper, slower reads. How a bra is supposed to fit. The difference between Leavers lace and Chantilly. How to wear a harness for the first time. How to choose a corset. How to care for silk. The histories of the houses we love. These are the posts to come back to – the ones you bookmark and use as references for years.
Reviews
Honest, detailed looks at specific pieces – brand by brand, set by set. What they're made of, how they fit, how they feel, how they wear. Used the way reviews are meant to be used: not as the point of the site, but as the proof that we know what we're talking about.
Inspiration
Where the words quiet down and the images take over. Editorials, mood boards, atelier studies, the visual world of beautiful seductive lingerie. The category to scroll through on slow afternoons, when you just want to look and dream a little.
Trends
What's moving this season, with a long view on what's worth keeping. Less about chasing newness; more about understanding what newness is responding to – and which trends are about to become permanent additions to the lingerie vocabulary.
